The ROM sets within MAME evolve over time as missing parts get dumped (or existing parts get re-dumped in a better way).
As emulation gets more accurate over time, sometimes dumps of parts that weren't required in the past are now required. So things can change. What version of MAME is your ROM set for? When you audit your ROMs with clrmamepro, what files does it say is missing? When you try to run a game from the command line, what does it say is missing? Clrmampro can't create missing ROM files out of thin air so you probably need an update pack (or packs) with the changed ROMs for every MAME version between your old set and the set expected by MAME 0.202.
